Q. Why the weird name?
A. Our signature blend was developed for touring musicians who were slumlords to their bodies. The catchphrase, “Psychic Tea: When you have one brain cell left, and half an idea…” took off and we were running!
The word ‘psychic’ is derived from the Greek word psychikos and means: ‘of the mind’ or ‘mental’. In Greek mythology, the maiden Psyche was the deification of the human soul. We think Psychic Teaz is a perfect product name because a theory is that humans are earthbound souls distracted (teased) by their minds and senses. And as some synonyms for weird are magical, fantastic, numinous, and mystic; we embrace weird. Psychic Teaz are not to help you be psychic, current connotations of the word included (although, no guarantees…).
Q. Will Psychic Teaz interfere with my medications?
A. Psychic Teaz blends will not contra-indicate (render useless or dangerous) any medications or pharmaceutical protocols. They are designed by a naturopath and are for people young and old to enjoy drinking, hot or cold.
Q. Why are the Psychic Teaz blends different from other tea?
A. Often the tea bag on the market has 1- 3 herbal ingredients, many in bags that have been processed and treated. Psychic Teaz blends have as many as 33 ingredients. We sell them loose in order to process them less. Like Farm to Table dining, Psychic Teaz tries for the most direct route too. Call it Sunshine to Stomach steeping.
We heard through the grape vine that everything vibrates (See atoms, quarks, hadrons, sub-atomic quantum physics, etc.) and therefore makes a sound (a.k.a., music of the spheres) regardless of whether or not the vibrations can be perceived via our physical senses. The vibrations of one thing create energetic ripples and can affect the vibration of another. Just as placement of the braces inside the body of a guitar will enable (or dampen) amplification, some say there are optimal herbal combinations and processing methods which expand into (or contract from) higher frequencies. Read the customer reviews on the website for their adjectives. ‘Zing-a Ling’ comes to mind.
Q. Why are more ingredients better?
A. Psychic Teaz blends (as well as all of Dr. Brains Natural products) activate bodily systems in the same way that eating a spicy meal will make your nose run or increase your circulation. Different plants stimulate different systems. It is nearly impossible to put into words the exact energetic activations which occur when drinking our blends, as the experiences will differ depending on the condition of the sipper, or Teazer, as we like to call y'all.
Q. The Detox Chakras is too spicy. Any suggestions?
A. Yes! Cut the tea with peppermint, or parsley (for extra 'scrub' through the skin: your number one detoxification organ), or spearmint. Better still, mix it with our other blends. Honey might help distract from the spice, yet maybe not. Every person is 99.98% genetically identical, yet our tolerances and taste perceptions are relative. We applaud (and encourage) stretching sensism-based comfort zones.
Does the Champagne blend contain alcohol?
No, it does not. We call it Champagne because it was designed for a festivity with alcohol (sugar) replacement in mind and it is zesty and celebratory!
